What Is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?

Launched way back in February 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central government scheme, meant for eligible farmer families, with a straightforward money transfer.

That sum is broken into three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each.
  • The payments move directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts using the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) method.

The purpose behind it is to give some cushion for agri-inputs and also lower farmers’ reliance on informal credit channels.
