Infosys has announced some kind of major leadership handover by naming Ashiss Kumar Dash as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO)-designate. Dash will officially step in as Managing Director and CEO on April 1, 2027, and yes, he will succeed Salil Parekh, whose second term ends after more than nine years sitting at the helm of India’s second-largest IT services company. This move, recommended by the company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee, still needs shareholder approval, and it also looks like a key part of Infosys’ longer-term leadership succession plan.
Ashiss Kumar Dash is a seasoned Infosys executive with more than three decades inside the company. Over the years, he’s been in a number of senior leadership positions across customer-facing operations and technology delivery, as well as global operations.
Dash is the Global Head of a diversified business portfolio that spans multiple industry verticals now. At the same time, he also leads Infosys’ sustainability business, basically overseeing efforts that help the company work toward its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.

Whereas the company has added the appointment, it comes after the Nomination and Remuneration Committee made its recommendation. This is planned for a five-year term, but it still remains subject to shareholder approval.

Nilekani added that the board feels good about choosing an internal leader who understands the company’s business and where it wants to go as a vision.
